چکیده
The injectable hydrated calcium phosphate bone-like paste (hCPP) was developed with suitable rheological characteristics, enabling unhindered injection through standard 23G needles. In vitro assays showed the cytocompatibility of hCPP mesenchymal embryonic C3H10T1/2 cell cultures. composed aggregated micro-sized particles sphere-like shapes and low crystallinity. ability to adsorb serum proteins (FBS) investigated. demonstrated high protein adsorption capacity, indicating its potential in various biomedical applications. results vivo assay upon subcutaneous Wistar rats indicated nontoxicity biocompatibility experimental hCPP, as well gradual resorption comparable period bone regeneration. data obtained are great interest for development commercial highly effective osteoplastic materials tissue regeneration augmentation.

Calcium Acetate Versus Calcium Carbonate as Oral Phosphate Binder: Preparation and In Vitro Assessment
Calcium acetate is used as an oral phosphate binder to control hyperphosphatemia in patients with chronic renal failure. Compared to calcium carbonate, control of hyperphosphatemia can be achieved at lower calcium administration with calcium acetate which likely reduces the risk of hypercalcemia. In this study, various formulations of calcium acetate tablets were prepared and their disint...
متن کاملHollow calcium phosphate microcarriers for bone regeneration: in vitro osteoproduction and ex vivo mechanical assessment.
Synthetic grafting materials, such as calcium phosphates (hydroxyapatite, HA; tricalcium phosphate, TCP), polymers, or composites thereof, can be used as osteoconductive scaffolds and delivery vehicles for osteoinductive growth factors. Carrier materials must be engineered to deliver these factors in a controlled fashion at a rate and dose consistent with the biological need and responsiveness ...
متن کاملBiocompatibility and Bone Formation of Flexible, Cotton Wool-like PLGA/Calcium Phosphate Nanocomposites in Sheep
BACKGROUND The purpose of this preliminary study was to assess the in vivo performance of synthetic, cotton wool-like nanocomposites consisting of a biodegradable poly(lactide-co-glycolide) fibrous matrix and containing either calcium phosphate nanoparticles (PLGA/CaP 60:40) or silver doped CaP nanoparticles (PLGA/Ag-CaP 60:40). Besides its extraordinary in vitro bioactivity the latter biomater...
متن کاملBiocompatibility of calcium phosphate bone cement with optimised mechanical properties: an in vivo study
The broad aim of this work was to investigate and optimize the properties of calcium phosphate bone cements (CPCs) for use in vertebroplasty to achieve effective primary fixation of spinal fractures. The incorporation of collagen, both bovine and from a marine sponge (Chondrosia reniformis), into a CPC was investigated. The biological properties of the CPC and collagen-CPC composites were asses...
متن کاملInjectable calcium phosphate cement for augmentation around cancellous bone screws. In vivo biomechanical studies.
In lower cancellous apparent bone density, it can be difficult to achieve adequate screw fixation and hence stable fracture fixation. Different strategies have been proposed, one of them is through augmentation using calcium phosphate cement in the region at or close to the screw thread itself. To support the hypothesis of an improved screw fixation technique by augmentation of the bone surroun...
